Ms Pacman

I've decided to dedicate this portion of the website to the counterpart of the pacman series, to another game which is equally fun and worth mentioning. The history of ms pacman is quite interesting, and involves some legal mumbo jumbo which I just had to include. Did you know that originally the miss pacman video game was titled under the name Crazy Otto? It was infact developed by another gaming company which held no rights to the game. The programmers simply took the pacman idea and expanded upon it, building onto the game with new features and a different animation feel. They eventually sold the game to midway, without getting permission to make that move either. You could say that miss pacman was born in the middle of a controversy.

Its a little different from the original, featuring better gameplay, bonus items which movie, more levels and different mazes, and the beautiful ms pacman. I also enjoyed the graphics and animation this had to offer. Your character moves a lot faster in this version, and the ghosts feature lots of random and unpredictable movements themselves. Released in 1981, sales skyrocketed and it has one of the most successful releases ever recorded in the gaming industry.

Eventually Namco had to sue Midway for this, considering they were profiting from a game they didn't have the legal rights for. While they didn't actually program the video game or develop it, they bought it from the programmer and released it on a large scale. A deal with both gaming companies was struck, and lots of cash was passed around. Its been said that upon closing that deal, the gaming executives got together and threw a party, celebrating the iconic status of ms pacman.
