The Creator of Pacman

We recently sat down to interview the man who claims to have created the game of pacman, at least in our email communications recently. Because it was released in Japan, it was mostly likely a whole series of programmers, not a single nerdy individual. But that doesn't matter right now, because he has some interesting insights to share about the pacman game, so we listened and asked him some questions.

Why Did you Invent Pacman?

During that period of my life, I was looking to create something of lasting value for the video gaming community. People were getting tired of the same old games, with the same missions and graphic style. For this reason, I took a different approach and got involved in some really unique programming and game design concepts. They worked out well, and pacman was born!

How Long Did the Development of Pacman Take?

I spent about 12 years laying the groundwork for the pacman series of video games. Things got much easier after I learned how to use mac computers, the whole process speeded up. I was not responsible for making the ms pacman games however, and this bothers me to this day.

Soon after this interview was completed, I learned this guy actually works fixing cars, and had nothing to do with developing pacman games. I have reported him to the gaming industry police, and they tell me they are considering featuring him as the new boss in their next entertainment television show.
